Helldivers 2’s Worst Suggestion Yet Would See Players Losing Their Individuality in the ****** for Democracy

Helldivers 2 is a massive triumph for Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment. The gaming community fell in love with the theme and gameplay as they fought together in the name of democracy, however, some players grew tired of the concept and wanted to stand out as individuals.

Working together as a team means being part of the team and wearing the required uniform and colors. Some players are not fond of the long capes and wish there would be an option to remove or disable them, however, that idea directly goes against the concept of unity and camaraderie.

The Gaming Community Is Divided About the Capes in Helldivers 2

Arrowhead Game Studios envisioned the online multiplayer game to bring together the gaming community regardless of where they live. This game was meant to bring people together and director Johan Pilestedt wanted the Helldivers 2 players to be kind to one another throughout the game’s lifespan.

Not everyone is a team player, not long-term at least, and has the ******* to better express themselves by the way they dress and customize their appearances in the game. Some players suggested an option to remove the capes and that is tantamount to removing a symbol of freedom.

Other games like Stellar Blade gave the players the option to modify the way Eve looks in the game. Perhaps the developers could take note of how Shift Up carefully evaluated this suggestion before giving the community a feature that could affect the game’s theme.

The capes are a symbol of the Helldivers’ loyalty to the citizens of Super Earth and a way to honor the President who may reveal their true identity sooner rather than later. Removing the cape could be considered an act of treason and will give fellow players a similar idea that could jeopardize everything.

Perhaps there is a middle ground to this whole debacle and for the developers to consider the consequences of this feature. From a tactical perspective, the capes can be a nuisance to players fleeing for their lives, and removing them would allow for more mobility and will be more convenient.

Helldivers 2 Capes Are More Than Just Cosmetic Pieces, It Is a Symbol

The capes represent the brave souls fighting for the planet’s freedom and it is a symbol that they are a ******* front. Removing the capes will send a wrong message and could prompt other players to go solo or rogue.

These cosmetic pieces are a symbol that players are part of something ******* than themselves. Granted, players will look cool without it but it is not as simple as removing a hat or switching to different ****** schemes.

Capes are like the player’s badge of honor waving in the wind in each mission and proof they are part of the war effort as they wear it proudly. It may not be the most practical piece of clothing to have on in a firefight but the idea of it matters more.

Arrowhead Game Studios needs to tread carefully with this decision. It may have serious ramifications in the future.
