In 2021, Call of Duty‘s Zombies mode creator Jason Blundell and Treyarch veteran Dave Anthony formed a studio called Deviation Games, revealing that they are developing a game in partnership with PlayStation.

Unfortunately, the studio was shut down before players could get more information about the game they were working on. When Deviation Games was working on the game, they revealed some images that indicated that the game was space-themed. Rumors suggest that the Call of Duty-like game was delayed, but Deviation Games was dissolved before they could reveal it.

Before Deviation Games‘ termination, the studio was working on a PlayStation exclusive game that was announced in 2021. The founders, Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony, revealed that Deviation Games is working on a new IP that was very early in development.

At the time, Anthony explained that they were working on “a huge, content-rich game with a focus on a lot of action and a lot of energy,” but before fans could get more information about the game, the studio was shut down.

. Stull also revealed that they are hosting a networking event for its employees. The sudden closure of the studio was shocking, and the game they were working on was shelved forever.

Many theories on social media claim that the studio was shut down due to the creative differences between Deviation Games and PlayStation. Without PlayStation’s funding, it was very difficult to keep the studio afloat.
