Alternate Version of Kratos Is Grossing Fans Out

**** of War is one of the most popular video game franchises that PlayStation has given to gamers. Whether it is the original GOW trilogy or the reboot, all the games have massive fans and they are always eager to learn more.

The often-forgotten game in the franchise is the **** of War: Ascension. The game was good but the original trilogy beats all and fans have now come across the alternate version of Kratos in the game and they are horrified.

The Rejected Version of Kratos in **** of War: Ascension Is Horrifying

Ascension was launched in 2013 after the end of the trilogy with **** of War 3. The game is the seventh title in the franchise, developed by Santa Monica Studios, and is the prequel to the entire series.

The game takes players to the time when Kratos renounces his master Ares. This is after Ares tricked him into ******** his family. This is when he is held captive and tortured by three Furies as a punishment for breaking his blood oath.

Fans have now come across an alternate version of Kratos, particularly during the ********, which was rejected by the studio and it is evident why. The early model of the character shows him a malnourished, broken and bleeding Kratos, with cuts and flesh torn-apart all over his body.

This is very different than the Ghost of Sparta fans are used to seeing, and it is only his red tattoos and ash-covered skin that lets one know that it is the vengeful ****.

Fans Are Grossed out at This Half-***** Look

This model of the characters was created by James Van Den Bogart who was the Senior Character Artist for the game. Although this character model was rejected and ended up being used as a corpse in the Martyr’s Chamber, fans can not believe that this was even considered.

Reacting to this model, one fan said, “This looks surprisingly disturbing for the **** of War series,” while another wondered how was the developer thinking to continue the franchise after this. One fan added, “How do you even recover from this?

These are very valid points as Kratos has always been known for his strength and rage and presented so. Even if he is tortured, showing him this weak and close to ******, could have backfired massively. Probably this was the reason that the studio shot down the model idea.

The character has been in serious situations through out the series but he has always come out alive and looking exactly as we all like. It could have been a massive mistake to show the character in the early model and Santa Monica Studios was right to not go with it.
